Several common flame-retardant PP plastics include environmentally-friendly flame-retardant PP, halogen-free flame-retardant PP, high glow-wire flame-retardant PP, high-CTI flame-retardant PP plastic and so on.

Halogen-free flame-retardant PP plastic

Halogen-free Halogen refers to the halogen elements in the periodic table, including fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), iodine (I), astatine (At), (Ts). At present, the industry generally defines products with Cl and Br content of ≤900ppm and the sum of the two ≤1500ppm as halogen-free products. Halogen-free flame-retardant PP plastic is a flame-retardant PP plastic under this definition.

The additives for halogen-free flame-retardant PP plastics are mainly phosphorus compounds and metal hydroxides. Halogen-free flame-retardant PP materials have a small amount of smoke, low density, and low cost during combustion, and produce toxic and corrosive gases. Less, mainly used in the shell of small household appliances, such as irons, hair dryers and other electrical components.

Jusailong halogen-free flame-retardant PP plastic has the characteristics of low smoke, environmental protection, no precipitation, high electrical performance, low density, low cost, and easy processing and molding. The typical brand is PPFR420, which is mainly used in microwave oven internal supports, heater shells, etc. .


High glow wire flame retardant PP plastic

The high glow wire performance means that the product has a safer performance. Jusailong’s high glow-wire flame-retardant PP plastic can meet the requirement that the glow-wire is non-flammable at 850℃, and its flammability index reaches 960℃. It has been widely used in the heater shell products of many well-known domestic companies and can meet Export requirements.

Jusailong high glow-wire flame-retardant PP plastic has passed ROHS, UL yellow card, CQC and other certifications. Typical grades are Jusailong FRPP412, which are used in capacitors, patch panels, etc.


Simply put, flame-retardant PP means to prevent objects from burning, and flame-retardant PP materials have the property of significantly delaying the spread of flames. The principle is roughly divided into four categories:
(1) Flame-retardant PP products produce a gas that can suffocate the flame when burned, and play a flame-retardant effect. For example, when PP burns, the free radicals generated by antimony trioxide and bromine compounds can absorb oxygen in the air. Then extinguish the flame.
(2) When flame-retardant PP burns, the substances in it can absorb the heat. For example, the water vapor produced by the high-temperature hydrolysis of the added aluminum hydroxide can absorb a lot of heat.
(3) After the material in the flame-retardant PP absorbs heat, it provides an isolation layer that is isolated from oxygen, which is self-extinguishing due to the isolation of oxygen. For example, the phosphide generated when the phosphate ester flame retardant burns insulates the oxygen.
(4) Flame-retardant PP materials absorb heat to generate free radicals that can react with plastics, and their reaction products with plastics can play a flame-retardant effect.
